collections of the Sutliff Museum

Examples of ladies’
fashions are seen in the elegant wedding gowns of 1883, 1885 and 1878,
a party dress of ivory satin with deep green velvet leg-o-mutton
sleeves, and other fashions dating back to 1850. Hour-glass waists and
bustles are in evidence. Embroidered bonnets, silk scarves,
high-button gaiters and beautiful fans reveal styles of the past. |
